Matt Burdette, Chief of the Intelligence Division, brings a substantial background in intelligence analysis to the job. Coordinating more than 18 Intelligence analysts, Matt is a primary interface for ASI Group’s clients seeking intelligence and consulting on global security issues, political developments and corporate aviation security.
Matt began his tenure with ASI Group as a risk analyst in April of 1998 and rapidly increased his involvement in managing the division’s daily operations and planning long-term development of intelligence for the company. He has co-written several articles that have been published in industry journals. Matt was named Chief in 2007.
His educational background includes a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington, focusing on U.S. national security history. Matt examined and wrote in-depth on the relationship between intelligence formulation and policy execution during the Vietnam War years of 1960-1963. He has also assisted in teaching several undergraduate classes, including Intelligence Systems, Evolution of Warfare and Diplomatic History. Matt has traveled extensively throughout -- and resided in -- Asia, Europe and South America. He is a member of ASIS International .
