Founded in 1989 as Air Security International, the ASI Group has evolved into a leading provider of global risk management services and products. Our Board of Directors initially launched Air Security International to provide a concentrated line of security products and services for the corporate aviation community. Over the years, Air Security grew into an internationally recognized provider of security for many other specialty areas, such as corporate security and travel, and in 2006 evolved into a new brand known as the ASI Group.

Early Focus – Corporate Aviation

Air Security’s early focus centered on protecting executives and flight crews traveling around the world in corporate aircraft. Frequently, these business aircraft operated without protection while on the ground, placing the aircraft, the flight crew and the executive passengers at risk. Air Security’s trademark comprehensive intelligence reports and international network of security providers altered the situation. Reports advised crews and passengers of potential dangers and made recommendations for safe travel. Guards protected aircraft, and crews and passengers were provided with services that included top quality ground transportation and personal protection for executive passengers.

Birth of Online Intelligence and Service Expansions

In the early 1990s, the Internet changed the way we looked at our intelligence services. Always striving to be on the cutting-edge, we were one of the first companies to offer a database of online intelligence products. Individual security briefings progressed into sophisticated intelligence products and programs, such as World Watch ® On-line, Airline Insider, Hot Spots and Hot Spots Plus.

Soon, security directors became part of our client base and we were able to bridge the gap between them and their aviation departments. This focus was innovative at the time, as most security directors did not work with their flight departments even though company executives were traveling the world in corporate aircraft.

In addition, our strong aviation background enabled us to plan and implement special solutions for multinational corporations, such as international evacuations provoked by coups d'etat, massive social unrest or natural disasters.

Growth and Next Generation Technology

As corporate clients began using Air Security for more than just travel security support, we realized that we could further expand our core competencies into a broader spectrum of risk-based intelligence services. To meet that goal, we created a new consulting division and hired experts with decades of risk management and intelligence experience. These professionals had backgrounds and experience that paralleled those of traditional corporate security departments. At the same time we also invested in new information management technologies to enhance our intelligence collection, evaluation and distribution capabilities so we could deliver more meaningful and actionable intelligence on-demand.

Expansion into Global Investigations Arena

After acquiring Paladin International, a private investigation firm, in 2005, ASI was able to offer comprehensive investigative support and broaden its scope of services for the business, legal and financial communities. The dramatic growth led ASI to increase staffing by 50 percent in this division. Clients responded favorably and ASI found a strong concentration of this growth in the litigation and international due diligence arenas. With the continued trends in globalization, International due diligence has become a critical component for many U.S. companies that have interests in expanding around the world. With its well-established global network, ASI was in the perfect position to integrate its investigations units with a worldwide on-the-ground support system.

Today, ASI Group continues to offer a wealth of knowledge in global intelligence and proactively-focused risk management programs for numerous business sectors. We invest in our people, our products and our services to ensure top-quality performance and cutting-edge innovations. Our commitment to building strong relationships and our desire to understand an organization’s unique set of requirements remain steadfast. As a result, many of the world’s largest companies turn to the ASI Group for their risk management needs.
